A yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for entry from yellow fever areas, even in transit.

Banks usually have ATMs where you can withdraw money using credit cards (mainly Visa, Mastercard). Visa is often accepted.

Larger hotels, airlines, travel agencies, restaurants, shops and supermarkets accept credit cards.

Euros can be exchanged at the airports and banks. Avoid exchanging money on the black market.

In an emergency, money can also be received via various payment service providers such as Western Union, MoneyGram and the like.

With us you can of course also pay with credit cards, Ariary and also in euros.

The best time to travel to Madagascar is from the end of April to around mid-October. Then the rainy season begins, which can be quite heavy and stormy in some regions. There are also numerous cyclones at this time. The peak of the rainy season is January to April. Nosy Be rarely has a temperature below 20 degrees Celsius. In the rest of Madagascar there are higher fluctuations, depending on the season.
A yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for entry from yellow fever areas, even in transit. Otherwise, any vaccination you otherwise have is of course recommended. These are primarily vaccinations against tetanus, hepatitis A, B, diphtheria and tetanus, to name just a few. Particular attention should be paid to particularly effective insect protection to avoid malaria, dengue fever and other tropical diseases. Before you leave, be sure to get enough information from your doctor!
Please do not drink water from the tap at any time. It is also recommended not to eat raw meat.
There are enough restaurants in Madagascar that can maintain European standards, especially in the tourist areas, such as on the island of Nosy Be.
